Damaris Lüthi

Damaris Lüthi hat in Bern und London Sozialanthropologie studiert mit den Schwerpunkten Südasien und Visuelle Anthropologie. Im Tamilengebiet Indiens hat sie während eineinhalb Jahren geforscht und auch gefilmt. Während und nach den Studien entstanden Dokumentarfilme wie “1000° Celsius”, “Seide, Muthappar und VHS”, “Hippie Masala,” die Drehvorlage für “Messies - ein schönes Chaos” und "Unter Mangobäumen". 

Damaris Lüthi did her postgraduate studies at the London School of Economics and at the University of Berne, Switzerland, from where she has a Ph.D. in Social Anthropology, focusing on South Asia. Sie is also an independent documentary filmmaker. She researched and filmed in the Tamil region of India for a year and a half. During and after the studies she created documentaries such as “1000° Celsius”, “Silk, Muthappar and VHS”, “Hippie Masala”, the film template for “Messies - a beautiful chaos” and “Under Mango Trees”.
